Eyes on Animals is training more and more highway police

December 1, 2019

This year, EonA has increased the number of training given to police to further reduce the suffering of animals during transport. Whereas in previous years the police only checked paperwork and driving times, there are now more and more officials on the highway who can also check the animals themselves. Before Eyes on Animals started training, the police often expressed the desire to check the animals in the trucks but that they didn’t know what to look for. EonA is now teaching them, through theory and practical training, how to check transports, both with regard to the animals and the facilities in the livestock trailer.

We already provide training to the police in Poland, Belgium and Hungary but this year the training has been extended to the Gendarmes in France. The police trainings are always enjoyable to do because this group of people is enthusiastic and willing to learn. And because the transporters now know that the police inspect livestock transports more often and more thoroughly, they will ensure that the Transportation Act is complied with more, thus reducing animal suffering.

Las primeras víctimas siempre son los animales.

Se debería de aprobar un pacto de estado contra el fuego, por la prevención y de compromisos contra el cambio climático.
