The Eyes on Animals and TSB|AWF team is invited once again to Lublin region. ITD (Road Transport Inspection) Inspectors decide to work out of their usual working time to verify animal transports performed in the afternoon and late in the evening. Together, we are patrolling different roads in the area of Lublin. The sad highlight of the day is a national cattle transport with a mix of good and bad practices: some animals travel in exemplary conditions, some are tied by the horns. One partition is very good, the other is dangerous and poses risk of injury to animals. Some documents are correct, the others are incomplete or missing. The biggest surprise is a lack of ramp on the very high trailer. As this is unacceptable, competent authority for the transporter will be notified. ITD inspectors impose a fine and initiate proceedings against the transporter.
