Jan Voordouw is slachter van beroep en tevens vrijwilliger voor Eyes on Animals. Hij gelooft dat zolang dieren worden geslacht, ze op zijn minst met het grootste respect moeten worden behandeld, zodat lijden en angst tot een absoluut minimum worden beperkt. Dankzij hem hebben we slachters in Turkije getraind in het eerst verdoven van vee met een captive bolt verdover, zodat ze niet de extra pijn en angst hoeven te ondergaan van het slachten terwijl ze volledig bij bewustzijn zijn. Hij heeft ons ook geholpen om een varkensslachterij volledig opnieuw in te richten, zodat elektrische bedwelming met hoge doorvoer nu een \u201chumaner\u201d alternatief is voor bedwelming met CO2-gas. Hij heeft zijn kennis en ervaring ingezet om het lijden van honderdduizenden dieren te verminderen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
