Asalet vertelde hem over het lijden dat hij ziet in Turkse slachthuizen en over het verschil dat het bedwelmen van dieren (waardoor ze bewusteloos raken) veroorzaakt, kijkend naar de mate van angst en pijn die ze ervaren. Door de bedwelming zijn dieren bewusteloos voordat ze omhoog worden gehesen, worden vastgeketend en hun keel wordt doorgesneden. Ook spraken ze over de Koran en de Hadith, en Asalet pleitte ervoor om altijd de kant te kiezen die minder pijn veroorzaakt.
