It is a group of about 30 official veterinarian inspectors from all over Europe, who are responsible for checking\u00a0 on animal transports departing for export or arriving at slaughterhouses, control posts and exit points. They have the task and power to enforce the law. We participated in the training to learn and become better trainers ourselves, to network with international vet inspectors and to share our experiences from the field. The purpose of this training is to reduce the number of violations and the often very serious suffering of animals during transport. Our talks were about the pain and suffering caused during conventional chicken catching (conducted in manners that often totally violate Article 3) and what happens to cattle once they exit the EU and arrive at abattoirs far away without stunners.
