Eyes on Animals hat heute mit zwei Vertretern der niederl\u00e4ndischen Landwirtschafts- und Gartenbaubeh\u00f6rde (LTO) und der s\u00fcdniederl\u00e4ndischen Landwirtschafts- und Gartenbaubeh\u00f6rde (ZLTO) ein Gespr\u00e4ch zum Wohlergehen von Ziegenkitzen gef\u00fchrt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Im Jahr 2020 ver\u00f6ffentlichte Eyes on Animals den Bericht „Welfare of Male Goat Kids in Focus“. In diesem Bericht wiesen wir auf Probleme wie die hohe Sterblichkeitsrate bei Ziegenkitzen, deren Transport und Schlachtung in einem Alter von nur 7 Tagen hin und unterbreiteten verschiedene Vorschl\u00e4ge f\u00fcr Verbesserungen. Die beiden Gespr\u00e4chspartner teilten uns mit, dass einige dieser Empfehlungen inzwischen umgesetzt wurden, darunter die fr\u00fchere Registrierung von L\u00e4mmern und die schrittweise Anhebung des Transportalters. Au\u00dferdem wird die M\u00f6glichkeit gepr\u00fcft, die Geburt von L\u00e4mmern \u00fcber das ganze Jahr zu verteilen. Gegenw\u00e4rtig gibt es oft eine Spitze der Geburten von M\u00e4rz bis Mai, was zu einer \u00dcberlastung der Transporteure, Schlachth\u00f6fe und Aufsichtsbeh\u00f6rden (NVWA) f\u00fchren kann. Dieses Problem muss unbedingt energisch angegangen werden, um die Ausfuhr von Zicklein zur Schlachtung ins Ausland zu verhindern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LTO und ZLTO teilten uns mit, dass die meisten Landwirte nun, wie im Sektorprotokoll vorgesehen, mindestens 25 % ihrer m\u00e4nnlichen Ziegenkitze f\u00fcr mindestens zwei Wochen m\u00e4sten. Dieser Prozentsatz soll im n\u00e4chsten Jahr auf 50 % und im darauf folgenden Jahr auf 100 % erh\u00f6ht werden. In der Praxis liegt der Anteil der Ziegenkitze, die gem\u00e4stet werden, oft schon \u00fcber den vorgeschriebenen 25 %, und sie werden in der Regel nach durchschnittlich 3 bis 5 Wochen zur Schlachtung gebracht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In der Region Nordbrabant, die in den Zust\u00e4ndigkeitsbereich der ZLTO f\u00e4llt, haben einige Ziegenz\u00fcchter Probleme mit den \u00f6rtlichen Gemeinden. Aufgrund eines „Baustopps“ erteilen diese Gemeinden keine Genehmigung f\u00fcr den Bau von kleineren Anlagen f\u00fcr die Ziegenmast. Dies hat zur Folge, dass einige Bauern mit Platzproblemen ihre Ziegenkitze bereits im Alter von 7 Tagen zur Schlachtung schicken. Wir hoffen gemeinsam mit LTO und ZLTO, dass die Provinz Nordbrabant Ausnahmen f\u00fcr Ziegenhalter in Erw\u00e4gung zieht, die solche Anlagen f\u00fcr eine unabh\u00e4ngige Mast ben\u00f6tigen. Damit w\u00fcrde verhindert, dass wichtige Tierschutzma\u00dfnahmen durch den Baustopp behindert werden. Die Nutzung dieser Anlagen ausschlie\u00dflich f\u00fcr Ziegenkitze (und nicht f\u00fcr Milchziegen) kann in einem Vertrag dokumentiert werden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eyes on Animals h\u00e4lt es f\u00fcr inakzeptabel, dass Ziegenkitze bereits nach 7 Tagen transportiert werden; in diesem Stadium sind sie noch sehr unsicher auf den Beinen und schw\u00e4cheln sehr schnell. Wir sind zwar nach wie vor der Meinung, dass drei oder f\u00fcnf Wochen immer noch viel zu jung sind, aber diese Zicklein sind vergleichsweise widerstandsf\u00e4higer gegen Transportstress und k\u00f6nnen eine l\u00e4ngere Zeit ohne Milch verkraften.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wir sehen unser Gespr\u00e4ch mit LTO in einem positiven Licht. Verbesserungen beim Wohlergehen von Ziegenkitzen waren und sind dringend notwendig, und es scheint, dass sie nun ernst genommen werden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
