Eyes on Animals hatte den Mitarbeitern dieses Betriebes vor einigen Monaten gezeigt, was ein Bolzenschussger\u00e4t ist, und ihnen beigebracht, wie man es richtig einsetzt, um die Tiere vor der Schlachtung zu bet\u00e4uben, so dass sie keine Schmerzen empfinden. Die T\u00fcrkei ist ein islamisches Land und hat im ganzen Land Schlachth\u00f6fe, in denen Rinder und Schafe bei vollem Bewusstsein geschlachtet werden. Man war der Meinung, dass die Bet\u00e4ubung das Fleisch nicht halal macht. Doch durch Aufkl\u00e4rung und eine \u00f6ffentliche Diskussion beginnen sich die Einstellung und die \u00dcberzeugungen zu \u00e4ndern. Einige der bekanntesten Imame und islamischen Schlachter sehen den gewaltigen Unterschied, den die Bet\u00e4ubung f\u00fcr das Tierwohl bedeutet, und akzeptieren und f\u00f6rdern sie jetzt sogar. In diesem Schlachthof werden die Rinder seit unserem letzten Besuch bet\u00e4ubt, und als wir heute ankamen, sahen wir es auch in der Praxis. Es wird immer noch geschlachtet, was nie sch\u00f6n ist, aber was f\u00fcr einen gro\u00dfen Unterschied die Bet\u00e4ubung macht.
