In der Antwort auf unsere Fragen best\u00e4tigt die EU-Kommission, dass es keine Ausnahmeregelung bei den F\u00fctterungsintervallen f\u00fcr Tiere gibt, die auf RORO-Schiffen (roll-on-roll-off;\u00a0bei diesem Transportsystem fahren die LKW auf das Schiff, die Tiere werden nicht entladen) transportiert werden.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Tiere, die auf Fahrten einschlie\u00dflich RORO unterwegs sind, m\u00fcssen mit der gleichen H\u00e4ufigkeit gef\u00fcttert werden wie solche, die ausschlie\u00dflich auf der Stra\u00dfe transportiert werden. Das bedeutet, dass die Fahrten von nicht abgesetzten K\u00e4lbern, die auf LKWs von H\u00f6fen in Irland zu irischen H\u00e4fen und von dort per Schiff nach Cherbourg in Frankreich gebracht werden, tats\u00e4chlich illegal sind. Diese K\u00e4lber sind von T\u00fcr zu T\u00fcr insgesamt 23 bis zu 29 Stunden ohne F\u00fctterung unterwegs, w\u00e4hrend das EU-Gesetz eine F\u00fctterung von nicht abgesetzten K\u00e4lbern nach maximal 18 Stunden vorsieht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Unweaned<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Die EU best\u00e4tigt, dass sich die Ausnahme in Punkt 1.7 (a) der EC 1\/2005 speziell nur auf Fahrzeiten und Ruhezeiten bezieht und die Anforderungen 1.3 und 1.4, solche wie Tr\u00e4nk- und F\u00fctterungsintervalle, weiterhin f\u00fcr den Seetransport gelten m\u00fcssen. Punkt 1.7 (b) bezieht sich nur auf Fahrzeiten und Ruhezeiten, ohne dass die Bedeutung von Punkt 1.7 (A) in Bezug auf Tr\u00e4nk- und F\u00fctterungsintervalle ge\u00e4ndert werden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anders als abgesetzte Tiere, die technisch gesehen an Bord des Transporters gef\u00fcttert werden k\u00f6nnen, in dem man Heu in das Fahrzeug legt, k\u00f6nnen nicht abgesetzte Tiere noch kein Futter fressen und sind angewiesen auf Milch oder Milchersatz, um die Versorgung zu erhalten, die sie brauchen und sich satt zu f\u00fchlen. Weil dies an Bord eines LKWs nicht m\u00f6glich ist und auch bei keinem der Transporter erfolgte, k\u00f6nnen nicht abgesetzte K\u00e4lber (und andere nicht abgesetzte Tiere und L\u00e4mmer) niemals l\u00e4nger als insgesamt 18 Stunden an Bord eines Transporters bleiben.
Im Grunde ist es schon illegal, wenn man sie l\u00e4nger als 9 Stunden im Transporter l\u00e4sst, weil das Gesetz vorschreibt, dass nicht abgesetzte Tiere nach 9 Stunden ihre erste Pause zum Wassertrinken erhalten m\u00fcssen und wenn n\u00f6tig auch gef\u00fcttert werden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Auch wenn die LKWs \u00fcber ein Wassersystem verf\u00fcgen, so ist bekannt, dass noch nicht alle abgesetzten K\u00e4lber wissen, wie man die Tr\u00e4nken benutzen. Auf alle F\u00e4lle k\u00f6nnen sie w\u00e4hrend dieser ersten Rast nicht mit Milch oder Milchersatz versorgt werden, obwohl es verpflichtend ist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
