Da sie in ihrem kurzen Leben jedes Jahr ein Kalb geb\u00e4ren und enorme Mengen an Milch produzieren, sind ihre K\u00f6rper ersch\u00f6pft und gebrechlich. Wir sahen eine leicht lahmende Kuh und einige magere, aber der Rest lief gut und war in einem vern\u00fcnftigen k\u00f6rperlichen Zustand. Wir sahen weder Downer (festliegenden Rinder) auf dem Markt noch welche die ernsthafte Probleme beim Laufen hatten. Der Umgang heute, wie bereits am Montag, war ruhig und ohne Aggressivit\u00e4t. Abgesehen von einem Tor, das ab und zu knallte, wenn es geschlossen wurde, war es ruhig auf dem Markt. Wir h\u00f6rten keine Mitarbeiter br\u00fcllen oder Tiere schlagen. Der gesamte Stallbereich auf dem Markt und der Auktionsring waren wieder mit Holzhackschnitzeln und S\u00e4gesp\u00e4nen bedeckt, so dass wir kein Tier ausrutschen sahen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wir stellten uns beim Direktor vor, um ihm unser Feedback zu geben. Er \u00fcbernahm den Markt in 2009 und wies darauf hin, dass auf dem Markt unter seiner Leitung weder grober Umgang toleriert noch Tiere in schlechtem Zustand akzeptiert werden. Er sagte, dass nicht immer alles perfekt sei, aber alle versuchen ihr Bestes zu geben. Alle Angestellten seien im Verhalten gegen\u00fcber Tieren und sanften Umgangtechniken durch Gestbeau geschult und diese m\u00fcssten funktionieren, da sich in der Tat eine deutliche Verbesserung zu davor zeigte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Das Dach hat \u00d6ffnungen, durch die im Sommer die hei\u00dfe Luft entweichen kann und gro\u00dfe Ventilatoren an den Seiten. Nach dem Verkauf der Tiere kommen sie in einen Stall, in dem die Tiere vor dem Aufladen auf die LKWs aus Wassertr\u00f6gen trinken k\u00f6nnen. Um kranke oder lahme Tiere von ihrem Leid zu befreien, haben die Angestellten Bolzenschussapparate bei sich. Auf dem Markt befindet sich kein mobiler Melker, aber der Leiter zieht die Investition in einen solchen in Betracht, sodass ein festgelegter Angestellter in der Lage ist, K\u00fche die mit vollen Eutern in der Laktation ankommen, zu melken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die offiziellen Inspektoren von CFIA sind, genau wie die der Ministerien Quebecs, regelm\u00e4\u00dfig auf dem Markt. Trotz der erheblichen Verbesserungen zu fr\u00fcher, ist es bedauerlich, dass viele ausgediente K\u00fche Nachts aufgeladen werden, um zu Better Beef in Ontario (ungef\u00e4hr 10 Stunden) oder zu Betrieben \u00fcber die Grenzen in den USA (durchschnittlich 6 Stunden) transportiert werden.
