Heute ist ein Team von Eyes on Animals mit einem Reporter des niederl\u00e4ndischen Radiosenders Vroege Vogels unterwegs. Gemeinsam besuchen wir unangek\u00fcndigt das Schlachthaus Weidemarkt in S\u00f6gel. Wir wollen \u00fcberpr\u00fcfen, ob sich die niederl\u00e4ndischen Viehtransporteure an die Richtlinien ihres k\u00fcrzlich erstellten \u201eHitzeprotokolls\u201c halten. Das Protokoll verlangt eine Reduzierung der Ladedichte bei Schweinetransporten um 10- 20% bei starker Hitze (27 Grad \u00fcber 4 Tage oder 30 Grad an einem Tag). Wir haben auch geh\u00f6rt, dass die Pferche in diesem Betrieb oft \u00fcberf\u00fcllt sein sollen und die LKW mit den Tieren an Bord in langen Reihen warten m\u00fcssen bis sie abgefertigt werden.<\/p>\n

Bei unserer Ankunft gegen 10 Uhr betr\u00e4gt die Au\u00dfentemperatur bereits 32 Grad. Viele niederl\u00e4ndische Schweinetransporter parken am Stra\u00dfenrand, einige innerhalb des Schlachthofgel\u00e4ndes teilweise in der prallen Sonne. In den Transportern messen wir Temperaturen von \u00fcber 33 Grad. Der Gro\u00dfteil der Tiere hechelt und es gibt Gerangel. Wir sehen ein Schwein das versucht sich vor dem Ventilator des Transporters abzuk\u00fchlen. Wenigstens haben drei Transporter von acht kontrollierten LKW\u00a0weniger Tiere geladen. Bei diesen hohen Temperaturen mach das einen deutlichen Unterschied. Die restlichen Transporter sind aber mit 205 bis 206 Schweinen beladen, so wie es bei normalen Temperaturen vorgeschrieben ist.\u00a0Die Transportunternehmen sind hier aber in der Verantwortung und sollten den Tieren bei hohen Temperaturen deutlich mehr Platz einr\u00e4umen. Um hierf\u00fcr eine L\u00f6sung zu finden, \u00a0sprechen wir mit dem Direktor des Schlachthofs und dem Leiter der Warteeinrichtung.<\/p>\n

\"Overheated<\/p>\n

Die Infrastruktur in Schlachth\u00e4usern muss so ausgelegt sein, dass auch au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnliche Situationen wie Hitzewellen bew\u00e4ltigt\u00a0werden k\u00f6nnen. Weidemark schlachtet bis zu 70,000 Schweine in der Woche. Auf Grund dieser hohen Anzahl ist die Logistik eine Herausforderung. Dies f\u00fchrt manchmal dazu, dass die Viehtransporter bis zu zwei Stunden oder l\u00e4nger auf die Entladung warten m\u00fcssen.\u00a0Deshalb haben wir Weidemarkt gebeten, mehr in ihre Infrastruktur zu investieren. Daraufhin wurden mobile Industrieventilatoren besorgt, die vor\u00a0den parkenden Transportern aufgestellt werden k\u00f6nnen. Pl\u00e4ne f\u00fcr eine Parkbucht im Schatten der Baumreihe am Eingang des Betriebes gibt es auch schon. Hier gebe es Parkm\u00f6glichkeiten f\u00fcr mindestens 10 LKW.<\/p>\n

Wir freuen uns sehr, dass Weidemarkt mit diesen beiden Ma\u00dfnahmen einverstanden ist. Aber wir werden uns weiterhin daf\u00fcr einsetzten, dass gro\u00dfe Schlachtbetriebe wie Weidemark ihre Wartebereiche vergr\u00f6\u00dfern, damit die Tiere nicht in den Transportern ausharren m\u00fcssen. Weidemark versicherte uns auch, dass es Pl\u00e4ne f\u00fcr den Ausbau des\u00a0Wartebereichs gibt. Wir werden mit Ihnen weiterhin in Kontakt bleiben und planen einen Kontrollbesuch bei der n\u00e4chsten Hitzewelle.<\/p>\n
