Inspections of a Dutch pig transport truck from company Schurgers

Eyes on Animals inspected the conditions for piglets on board a livestock truck from the Dutch company Schurgers, spotted in Brabant. The piglets were on their way to a fattening farm in Limburg. Stress for pigs loaded on a livestock truck from the Dutch company Vermeulen

Eyes on Animals spent the entire night checking on national Dutch livestock trucks on the highways. Late at night we spotted a parked livestock truck from the company Vermeulen, loaded with pigs. Inspection of loading of pigs onto trucks from the Dutch company VAEX

Eyes on Animals was permitted to participate and inspect the loading of pigs at a farm in Zeeland onto two transport trucks belonging to the company Vaex. The pigs were destined for a long distance journey to Slovakia and to Italy. Keus en Mollink is well-known for frequently violating the EU animal-protection-during-transport legislation. Eyes on Animals investigators spotted a Dutch livestock truck from the company Van Rooi in Germany. It was loaded with Dutch piglets. We called M. Van Rooi at the head-office to ask that he have his drivers stop so that we could inspect the animals, the condition of the truck and the transport documents. 64% van de geïnspecteerde melkveebedrijven produceert meer fosfaat dan toegestaan. In 2025 gingen we risicogericht langs bij 52 bedrijven. 33 van hen produceerden in 2023 of 2024 te veel fosfaat.Te veel fosfaat is slecht voor de waterkwaliteit.
