New film on the fate of Irish unweaned calves on “illegal” export routes that EU tolerates

January 14, 2022

Ireland continues to break EU feeding laws for unweaned calves during transport when they export them to mainland Europe via roll-on roll-off ferry. From the moment the calves are loaded on the trucks in Ireland to the moment they are finally given feed/milk after arrival in France at least 24 - 30 hours have gone by. Milk is the only type of “ feed”  these young animals … [Read more...] about New film on the fate of Irish unweaned calves on “illegal” export routes that EU tolerates

New film by Eyes on Animals showing how spent hens are caught in Europe

December 10, 2021

Screenshot New film by Eyes on Animals schowing how spent hens are caught in Europe

Eyes on Animals has been documenting how spent laying hens are caught and loaded in Europe. This is just some of the footage and it is not even the worst. Spent hens raised on large farms are caught like this around the world and sadly even European officials and Member States have been tolerating it, despite it clearly being in violation of EU legislation. EU … [Read more...] about New film by Eyes on Animals showing how spent hens are caught in Europe

Another sow had a large and badly healed wound on her rear flank and she was foaming and panting. Read the website report here >> The video footage we took resulted … [Read more...] about Eyes on Animals files objection in regards to Lunteren pig assembly centre

Eyes on Animals and the Dutch Society for the Protection of Animals want law-abiding standards for transport during hot weather

June 16, 2021

In 2019, Eyes on Animals, together with the Dutch Society for the Protection of Animals, wrote 10 action points slaughterhouses could do to reduce heatstress for animals on board arriving trucks. Recently we prepared a new report about the current state of affairs. Conclusion: although the slaughter and transport industry made some improvements, the biggest cause of … [Read more...] about Eyes on Animals and the Dutch Society for the Protection of Animals want law-abiding standards for transport during hot weather
